From March 24 - March 30

This week allowed me to increase my industry network and improve my audio engineering skills even further. From covering social media content, to attending meetings, to getting personal advice about my own mix, every day presented worthwhile experience.

Monday – Planning & Social Media

I began the week planning coming tasks, preparing social media entries, and sitting in on Puremix meetings. I worked on vocal tuning from home and ran some errands for Mark as well.

Tuesday – Industry Meetings & Content Creation

Mark had a number of Puremix meetings, and I was able to observe some of the planning sessions for upcoming projects. To further generate buzz for the premiere of VMS "Sessions," I also uploaded the second teaser trailer on Instagram and TikTok.

Wednesday – Mixing & Social Media Strategy

I watched a mixing session, helped with Motion's scheduling, and planned Mark's social media updates for his projects. Maintaining everything in working order depends critically on organization.

Thursday – Hands-On Mixing & Networking

This turned out to be an amazing day! Along with scheduling and watching another mixing session, I worked on a mix of mine with Mark's advice. Later, I went to a concert (Spencer Sutherland) with Mark and Leslie where I got to meet some of Mark's clients. That was an amazing chance for networking!

Friday – Social Media & Mixing Prep

Editing social media material from the Sound and Media Workshop took the spotlight today. I also sat in on a meeting, watched a mixing session, and set up Pro Tools sessions for coming mixes.

Saturday – Tuning & Editing

While still working on social media content from the workshop, I tuned vocals for upcoming tracks. This double attention to audio and content production keeps me interested in both technical and marketing sides of the industry!

Sunday – Live Audio & Production Assistance

Mark and I went back to World Harvest Church this morning. Mark concentrated on the whole band's sound during service, and I helped him by handling BGV levels. Later, I assisted with Mark's content's phrasing for a Puremix video he was filming.

This week served to reinforce the need of networking and organization. I'm looking forward to seeing how these events impact my future!
